During my many years in public school as a Christian teacher, it was a difficult setting because teachers were not allowed to tell the children about Jesus. While I lived a Christian life in front of them and ran my classroom on God's principles, I could not say a word to them about Jesus. However, the Lord was faithful! He ALWAYS sent at lease two little "student evangelists" who did have the right to talk about Jesus in the classroom. When they stood up for show-and-tell, I let them speak about Sunday School, their church activities, their family activities, and Jesus!
While I could not verbally tell my students about Jesus, I wore my sterling silver cross that said: "Jesus is Lord". It was about an inch long, and I wore it on a sterling silver neck band. As I walked around my room teaching, the students read those engraved words of truth on my necklace all year long!
When I started working in missions as the "storytelling lady" for summer VBS, I realized that my true calling was teaching children about Jesus. I was already a storyteller, so I turned that gift into "Storyteller for Jesus"! Wanting to reach further with God's truths, I created the God's Word For Children website. With today's technology, I can easily teach God's word to children all over the world through online courses from the website.

Dr. Mary Walker McCampbell
Dr. McCampbell teaches courses on contemporary fiction, film, popular culture, and modernism. A native Tennessean, she completed her doctorate at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne (UK); her research focused on the relationship between contemporary fiction, late capitalist culture, and the religious impulse. Her publications span the worlds of literature, film, and popular music, and this interdisciplinary focus is also present in her recent book, Imagining Our Neighbors as Ourselves: How Art Shapes Empathy (Fortress Press: April, 2022). You can find her writing in many public-facing faith and culture publications such as Image Journal, The Other Journal, Relevant Magazine, Christ and Pop Culture, The Curator, and Christianity Today.
